Encore un trail center à coché dans la liste des bikeparks Ecossais ! Comme Glentress, Kirroughtree fait partie des 7 Stanes, un groupement de sept Trail centers dispatché le long de la frontière Ecosse-
Angleterre.
Une superbe journée, une température idéale et du soleil à peine interrompu par une petite pluie.
J'ai commencé par la boucle bleu qui m'a permis de donner des conseils à Mel qui m'a accompagné.
Le sentier progresse dans une belle forêt, grimpe tranquillement, longe les pâturages de moutons et empreinte quelques routes forestières.
Another Trail Center to tike off the list of scottish bikeparks ! As Glentress, Kirroughtree is part of the 7 Stanes, a group of seven Trail Centers along the scottish borders.
It was a cracking day, the ideal temperature and a shinning sun throughout the day.
The blue loop was a good start, I was able to give tips and advises to Mel who was riding with me that day. The climb is not steep and go through a nice forest, alongside sheep fields and some quiet forestry road.

Je m'attendai à une belle descente après la montée, histoire d'apprécier pleinement tous les efforts de la monté. Mais ça c'est révélé plutôt plant et long, avec peu de section amusantes. Frustré par cette bleu, je décide de faire la boucle rouge après le pic-nic.
I was expecting a kind of summit, were the trail would start to go downhill and we could then enjoy the gravity potential we had work during the uphill, but nothing like it. The downhill is very flat and long, with very little interesting section. Still looking for some adrenalin, I decided to go on the red loop after the lunch break.

Arrivé au point le plus haut de la boucle rouge, toujours plus avide de ride, j'ai continuer sur la noire, et encore plus haut et toujours plus haut. Tous mes espoirs de descente d'anthologie ce sont effondré lorsque après 5 min de descente sur des trails sympatique, je me suis retrouvé à rouler sur une piste forestière ... À partir de ce moment, la descente se révèle être une succession de petit section pentue, suivi de faux plat montant ou de grosse grimpettes assassine.
Up the highest point of the red loop, still hungry of more riding, I kept climbing the black loop. All my wishes of an epic downhill were annihilated when after 5 min of Downhill I found myself on a forestry road ... From that point, the track consisted of small downhill sections followed by a long flat or short but killing climb.

En conclusion, c'est sans doute le trail center que j'ai le moins apprécié au niveau des trails et de la topologie. Pas assez de descente, et techniquement un peu trop facile. Je ne conseille donc pas ce spot à un rider expérimenté en quête d'adrénaline, la boucle noire peu présenter un intérêt de part ça longueur et ces paysages. En revanche, c'est la destination parfaite pour une sortie avec des débutants, les sentiers faciles leurs donneront de bonne première sensation, sans trop de frayeur.
All in all, it's probably the trail center that I didn't enjoy the most. Not enough downhill and to easy on the technical stuff. I would not advise this place for an experienced and skillful rider, but the black loop can be interesting because of it's length and scenery. however, it's the perfect place for a ride with beginners, the easy trail will give theme confidence and good sensation, without too many fright.
